Randy Hardy - President
Randy is the founder of Hardy Aviation Insurance, Inc. and began his aviation career in 1977 by obtaining his flying license. He is now certified for commercial, multi-engine, and is instrument rated. He has spent the better part of his career learning and understanding the many facets of aviation. Randy enjoys working directly with clients, and is a member of numerous aviation-related organizations. He is also called upon to speak to aviation groups on subjects pertaining to trends and changes within the industry.
Angie Banz - Vice President
As a charter staff member, Angie has extensive experience in the field of aviation insurance. Her experience includes claims service and policy inception and renewals. She became a licensed agent in 1987, and has further expanded her knowledge of the aviation insurance industry. Angie also handles a large part of the office management duties, while continuing to service the clients directly.
Melinda Greene - Account Manager
Melinda joined the staff of Hardy Aviation Insurance in April of 1999. She became a licensed agent in the same year, and has further developed her skills and knowledge in the industry. She serves as an account manager and works directly with our clients on a daily basis. She primarily works with our pleasure and business aircraft customers, but also has the expertise to deal in all areas. Melinda also serves as our resident information systems technician, and has developed new ways to enhance our abilities to serve our customers more efficiently..”
Mona Rathmel - Account Manager
Mona began her aviation insurance career in the early 1980’s by joining a regional aviation insurance brokerage. Mona’s experience includes cargo and passenger airlines, aerospace manufacturers, large corporate fleets. Her expertise includes all Piper PA46, TBM, PC-12, turbine and jet aircraft. She is current Secretary/Treasurer of the Malibu/Mirage Owners and Pilots Association and Vice President and Safety Coordinator for the Malibu/Mirage Safety & Training Foundation. Further, she is a current active member of the TBM Owners and Pilots Association, Pilatus Owners and Pilots Association. Cessna Jet Pilots Association, AOPA and Women in Aviation. She has also served as past President of Business & Professional Women and member of the Board of Trustees of Kansas Aviation Museum.
Joyce Winn - Key Account Specialist for Kassidi Strunk
Joyce was hired in February 2013, after approximately 25 years at AOPA Insurance Agency. She held several positions there over the years, most recently Senior Account Executive and Assistant Manager. Among other accomplishments during that time, she passed pilot ground school, flew as a student pilot in a Cessna 172, earned her Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation, served as Vice President for Insurance Women of Wichita, and earned her Associates Degree in Business Management at Butler Community College. Joyce currently works as an Account Manager, marketing both new and renewal business and servicing existing policies. She has enjoyed a career geared solidly toward the personal service she provides to her customers. Joyce has found a home at Hardy Aviation Insurance, where we believe the same thing that she does when it comes to personalized service… one client at a time.
Mandi Hill - Account Manager
Mandi is a third generation pilot who has been involved in aviation all of her life. Her grandfather owned an aerial spraying business in the 1970’s and her father sprays for their family agricultural operations in western Kansas. She learned to fly with her dad in a Piper Super Cub and went on to Kansas State University at Salina to earn her commercial and flight instructor ratings along with a minor in Airway Science. She finished up her education with a B.A. from Fort Hays State University.
A passion for aviation combined with unwavering commitment to customer service makes Mandi well equipped to serve the insurance needs of all of our Hardy customers. When it comes to aviation she speaks your language.
Kim Manring - Property and Casualty Account Manager
Kim was hired in April 2016 to develop and manage the home, auto, work comp, commercial and life insurance division of Hardy Aviation Insurance, expanding our coverages to areas outside of aviation. She comes to us with 11 years of experience in property/casualty underwriting, having run an independent agency branch office in Newton for the past 8 years. She has earned her AIP (Associate in Insurance Production) and her CAWC (Certified Authority in Work Comp) certifications and will soon earn her AAI (Accredited Adviser in Insurance).
Kim stands firm in building one-on-one relationships with clients, while staying focused on doing the right thing. Rebecca Burns - Account Manager and Key Account Specialist for Angie Banz
Rebecca came from Montana to join the Hardy Aviation Insurance team in 2017. She may be new to aviation insurance but after obtaining her Kansas insurance license, she jumped in to further expand her knowledge and has been quickly learning every aspect of it from aerial application to pleasure and business and more. Primarily working as Angie’s assistant and in-house bookkeeper, she is also an account manager that enjoys helping clients find the right coverage that fits their needs. Having caught the aviation bug, she is a member of the Kansas chapter of the Ninety-Nines, Women in Aviation, and working towards getting a Private Pilots license.
Kassidi Strunk - Account Manager
Kassidi started her career in aviation insurance in 2010 as an account manager for non-owners (renters) insurance at AOPA Insurance Agency. Expanding her knowledge by assisting and taking on tasks in other areas of aviation insurance, she eventually began adding in pleasure and business aircraft. Joining Hardy Aviation Insurance in 2017, she runs the Non-Owned department and has further developed her knowledge in Pleasure & Business. She has enjoyed a career geared solidly toward the personal service she provides to her clients and her bubbly personality shines through even a phone conversation. With her busy life of raising four children, balancing time and their activities can be tricky, but Kassidi always has a smile on her face and finds Hardy Aviation Insurance a home away from home.
Keziah Hill - Account Manager and Key Account Specialist for Matt Younkin
Keziah was born in Concordia, Kansas, where her father ran the local FBO. As a child, she and her siblings spent all their time running around and practically living at the airport. In 2005, they packed up and moved to Hamilton, Montana, where her father became the Director of Maintenance at the airport. Hardy Aviation Insurance hired her in 2017, bringing her back to the sunflower state of Kansas. Keziah was initially hired as an assistant to Tim Wiebe where she learned the ins and outs of aviation insurance while becoming a licensed agent. She is now an account manager for her own clients as well as a Key Account Specialist for Tim’s clientele. She primarily works Pleasure and Business, Instruction and Rental, Commercial, Premises and FBO accounts here at Hardy Aviation Insurance
Matt Younkin - Account Manager
Matt Younkin is a third-generation pilot widely regarded as a top tier airshow professional. His family has been intimately involved in virtually every aspect of the aviation industry for many decades. Matt has an airline transport pilot’s certificate and is a fully rated flight instructor. He has over 5000 hours of flight time and has flown over 85 different types of aircraft. Hardy Aviation Insurance has been serving his families’ insurance needs for many years; Matt has been promoting them as THE choice for all your aviation insurance needs ever since the first policy was bound. “Hardy Aviation Insurance has been very easy to promote over the years, because they deliver a product at a very competitive price, and they can think outside of the box to meet specific and unusual insurance needs. Jam'e Brown - Key Account Specialist for Mandi Hill and Vaughn Tolbert
Jam’e Brown is our newest Key Account Specialist and comes to us with experience in P&C insurance. She will primarily work with Mandi Hill and Vaughn Tolbert and is very excited to further her knowledge in the aviation industry. In addition to her background in insurance, Jam’e has 16+ years in customer service and management, gained from owning her own transport brokerage company, to working as a customer service agent with various auto dealerships in Arkansas and Kansas. Jam’e is originally from North West Arkansas. She is married and has 2 beautiful children, an 8-year-old boy and 9-year-old daughter. Her husband is a KC-135 pilot in the Air Force Reserve and civilian Pilot for a Cargo Airline.
Vaughn Tolbert - Account Manager
Vaughn was born and raised in DFW and went to the University of Oklahoma where he got his Pilot Certificate and a degree in Aviation Management. After college, he went to work for an aircraft management company at Mesquite Municipal Airport as an office assistant and line guy. He was able to get hands on experience by learning the day to day operations of an airport and interacting with pilots about their experiences. From there, he went to work for Old Republic Aerospace as an Aviation Underwriter where he wrote insurance policies for Agriculture, Commercial, and Corporate accounts. While there, he learned the intricacies of the aviation insurance industry and was able to rise in the ranks and became the lead Ag underwriter for the Dallas branch. After five successful years as an aviation underwriter, he was offered a position at Hardy Aviation Insurance as an aviation insurance broker. He hopes to continue his success by providing quality service to our current customers and bring new customers to our growing organization.
Emily Lange - Property and Casualty Key Account Specialist
Emily Ewing-Lange was hired in May 2018 to assist Kim Manring with things without wings (e.g., property, flood, work comp, etc.) and became a licensed agent in July. Emily comes to us with over 10 years of customer service experience and has a vast knowledge in agriculture. She believes that building a good customer experience does not happen by accident; it happens by design. On the evenings and weekends, you can find Emily spending time with her three children, helping on the family farm, and watching her husband coach the varsity boys basketball team in Conway Springs.
